It's a long time since I last posted.  It's been a busy four years since Mapping Memory opened at the State Library of WA, and no images of the exhibition made it onto the blog.  However, I am currently working with the State Library to develop an online version of the exhibition which they plan to launch in August.

I have also been busy preparing the Royal WA Historical Society's exhibition to commemorate the centenary of the Great War.  Beyond the Battlefields opened on April 20, and will be up until at least the end of September.  If you live close enough, we'd love you to visit

The Great War's intensely personal impact reached deep into Western Australian communities, and continued to be felt long after the guns fell silent.

Shrapnel fragments removed from a head wound, post cards sent to loved ones, a blood-stained Red Cross armband, tiny dresses purchased in France for a baby daughter not yet met, embroidery stitched by returned soldiers...

These humble objects tell profoundly moving stories of pain, anguish, tenderness and endurance.
